Nguyen Manh Duy Linh was born in November 29th, 1980 in HoChiMinh city (Vietnam). Although his parents are not musicians, his father-physic and editor of Publish House of HoChiMinh city, his mother-chemical engineer, but they love listening to the classical music very much and interested in the art painter. So their children grew up in the atmosphere of classical music and art. At the age of 5 Nguyen Manh Duy Linh began to paint his first pictures with his sister who is older than him 5 years in the Club of Culture. And in the next year he began to study music with such subjects: Violin, Piano, Solfedgio and Theory of Music.
He began to study music seriously when he joined in the HoChiMinh State Conservatory in class of Piano with the talented teacher-Mrs. Tran Thu Thuy in 1989.
In 2000, he graduated from the College of HoChiMinh State Conservatory of Piano. During 11 years studying in HoChiMinh State Conservatory, he was not only interested in the main major-Piano but also the other subjects such as: Harmony, Musical Form, National Folk, History of Music, etc. So with the invitation of the teacher of Musical Form-Mr.Tran Thanh Ha, Nguyen Manh Duy Linh studied to compose some vocal songs. There were the first his own works in his life.
With the love of music, he decided to become the real classical composer and in September of 2000 he went to Russia to open his knowledge more in music. And he took part in Magnitogorsk State Conservatory in class of Composition of Composer, Professor Vladimir Sidorov.
During the studying years in Russia, he composed many works in the different genres and participated in many concerts.
In May, 2005 he graduated from Magnitogorsk State Conservatory in class of Composition of Composer, Professor Vladimir Sidorov successfully. His graduated programme includes the Referat and the Works of Composition. His referat in Russian language with the theme "The Polystyle - the own style of Alfred Schnittke" were remarked highly. Besides, the programme of composition for the graduated-examination includes: "Mymolyotnosti" (Fliers-by) for string quartet, 3 Vocalises "Nam Mo A Di Da Phat" for mixed chorus a cappella and Concerto for Violin and Chamber Orchestra. With these result of the Graduated Programme, Nguyen Manh Duy Linh received the Red Diploma (Excellent Diploma) after 5 years in Magnitogorsk State Conservatory.
In September, 2005 he took part in Post-graduated Course of Magnitogorsk State Conservatory in also class of Composition of Professor V. Sidorov.
In February, 2006 the Fond of Russian Composers invited him and his professor -V. Sidorov to join in the Concert of Contemporary Composers in Moscow. There, a few members of Moscow Symphony Orchestra of the conductor Vladimir Fedoseev performanced his string quartet "Mymolyotnosti" on 13th, February.
